What are your steam hardest games ?

VVVVV. Probably it is the hardest game I've ever touched (considering its achievements).

Well it's not steam but for you old schoolers: Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna. Nothing like a game with plenty of baddies who can 1 shot you or TPK in the 1st round of combat.

The various CIVs or Total Wars can be a PITA.

On And Eve: Online is difficult if your trying to avoid Dbags. Actually, that may be impossible.

I guess that opens up how difficult is most MMOs when you have to rely on other players. The actual single player parts tend to be easy but anybody who's been in a raid with morons knows how difficult that can be.

Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne are pretty nasty. Much, much harder than Bindind of Isaac and other roguelikes.

As for Spelunky, I guess it's a matter of preference but I really hated it. It's an unfair hard type of game in my opinion.

• Invisible Inc. (I haven't played this one yet but from what I read so far it looks like it'll be a hard game)

journey of the light with the first level unbeatable so ppl wont notice that the other levels were simply made up :D

And if you are playing the Definitive Edition, any mode "normal" or above. (Normal is the mode from the non-DE version).

Hard is really a matter of definition. Ever tried to play an AGEOD title? They're quite hard. Tried playing Europa Universalis 4 game as a really small nation? Also, some games are easy enough on the lower difficulties, but get really hard on the higher ones. And for some games, the hard part is getting certain achievements or optional goals (by this standard, Kirby's Epic Yarn does actually pose a challenge).

Pros:

Cons:

• None, unless you think that sore thumbs, several broken gamepads and hours upon hours of shouting mean words at the screen is a bad thing

Gothic 2 with a "returning 2.0" mod is one of the hardest games I've ever played =d
But Single-Player games can't provide the challenge you're looking for because they are all already beaten by others in many ways...
So you can always try Multiplayer games where you rely on your skills like Dota2 / CS:GO , try beating pros and they will become the hardest games ever =p
