Hey guys!

I purged my WL since there were many inactive members there and I decided to do new recruitment!

If you want to be considered into joining my whitelist please reply to this thread with an answer to the following question:

What's your favorite horror game of all times and why?

Additional rules:

Your SG profile is in good standing.
You've gifted more games than received (there can be exceptions to this rule).
You've created at least one giveaway during the last 3 months.
You're minimum level 5.
You won't message me on Steam asking to be added, that will instantly get you on my blocklist.

Adding me to your whitelist is welcome, but not mandatory so no worries there :)

Obligatory Giveaway!

Here's a giveaway I'm currently running for my whitelist folks - you can check if you're on my WL before applying.

Update 13 DEC 2024: Here's another giveaway I just opened for my WL folks, I'm keeping the recruitment going!

UPDATE 20 DEC 2024: Here's yet another giveaway I opened for my WL folks, the recruitment is still open for a while!

UPDATE 28 DEC 2024: I see that the thread is still getting bumped so here's another giveaway for my WL folks, I will keep recruitment going for a while still so apply while you can! :)

UPDATE 03 JAN 2025: Here's another giveaway for my WL folks as I will keep the recruitment open for a while longer! :)

One of my favorite horror games is a mod for Doom II called "Total Chaos," which is having a remake on steam

Awesome, I'll play it then as I love Doom series :)

Sorry C0ffeeTunic but even though you seemingly meet my requirements you gave away only a few copies of one game one month ago so I cannot add you to my WL just yet, please give away some more different games and apply again and I'll be happy to add you :)

I don't play many horror games, but I'd have to say Parasite Eve 2. I played it as a kid and it was awesome. Whenever someone mentions mitochondria, I think of Neo Mitochondrial Creatures (the monsters in the game).

I'm not into horror games too much but I loved Silent Hill 1 on ps1 and Rule of Rose on ps2. But my all time fav is Silent Hill 2 (not remake) since I've played it more than 20 years ago and completed it a few times with all possible endings :) This is most important psychological horror classic game that influenced genre.

All possible endings - WOW! That surely took a lot of time :D I love SH - best game series ever IMO.

Sorry n3xvs but you don't meet the requirements to be added to my WL but you're welcome in the future once your stats chage! :)

Yeah It took a lot of time as i remember. 6 endings in total. There was no youtube in those days ever, only fan forums, and you couldn't just watch walkthrough to learn how to achieve that or solve all puzzles, you had to solve it by yourself :) But in fact only first walkthrough was not easy and time consuming . Another 5 endings were not so hard to complete, especially "ufo" and "dog".

Fran Bow. I'm not entirely sure it's correct to call it a horror game, but since it's tagged horror whether I'm sure or not, so be it. Back in 2017, when I was playing Fran Bow for the first time, I wasn't too experienced yet and therefore was surprised to learn how deep and original a game story could be. I didn't forget neither the story nor the atmosphere of the game.
My second favorite is Prey and the third is SOMA.

I tend to avoid horror games as I find the prolonged tension a bit much, but my favourite recently is Dredge. I know that's already been mentioned, so I also really liked Oxenfree.
An old PS1 game called Nightmare Creatures just popped into my head - I liked that.

My favorite horror game is Angels of Death (an indie horror game) because it surprised me much more than I expected: the story, the characters, the ending...

I don't really like horror games so I don't have any favorites. The Resident Evil series, Silent Hill series, and Saya no Uta are some good horror games.

Finally achieved my goal of lvl 5 for 2025...now my life has no purpose. Can I get a whitelist to feel better?

Would original RE4 count as horror? It was scary for little kid version of me.

Promised to play the Remake for my gf later this year <3

Well, it’s not horror but still in my memory as child. It’s called Conkers Bad Fur Day for the Nintendo 64. That stage where you had to grab squirrels and feed them to the Dracula boss and the zombie squirrels had me shaking. Geez! Which I could replay It now! 🤣 I wasn’t even allowed to play that game at my age hahaha.

Silent Hill 2: It's the perfect portrait of guilt, exploring the depths of psychological torment, repressed memories, and the haunting consequences of one's past actions

I saw this post the other day and thought it best not to answer as I don't really play horror games. But like why not? I struggle to get through horrors. Really tried to play Dead Space but I just couldn't. It was fun, but I struggled so hard and was drenched in sweat after each session (I need bullets man). It really ain't even all that bad. Does Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk count? Or Limbo? There were some free games I played that could count; Rental, Sheepy: A Short Adventure, and Swallow the Sea. None were scary after the first playthrough (but very sheepishly discovered the worlds at first). There's even that one story in What Remains of Edith Finch that I dread having to play through. But anyways, apologies for the rant. Have a great weekend further :)
